Highlights of 2016 & Resolutions for 2017

Another year flew by! And 2016 will probably be an interesting year for the history books…. Even though, the world had to deal with many disappointing moments in the past twelf months I would like to bring some more positivity into the world by listing some things that have made my 2016! Wich will be followed by how I would like to develop myself in the coming year 🙂

So keep reading!

June: I successfully finished the first year of my studies without any resits! My grandfather turned 70 and therefore we had a nice party! Even my aunt who lived in Australia until November this year was at the party.
July: Not only did I play Pokémon go that month, I also went on vacation with Bae to the south of France. Where we had an amazing time!!! We sunbathed, walked along the beaches, visited and old castle and a fort and more importantly I went to a sephora haha. The week before our vacation I turned 19 and he took me to the zoo! I wanted to go sooooo bad for such a long time back then haha.

We stayed at a small city, called Juan-les-pins and this was the old centre of the city. It was sooo pretty! This photo was taken on one of the few stormy days.
August: Finally, I started my own blog and I’m so happy that I did it! It is slowly growing, which makes me very proud and I can’t get over how great it feels to write whatever and whenever I want. Back to August; at the end of the month me, le boyfriend and some friends went to a festival called Mysteryland for the secod year in a row 😀
October: Me, my little sister and my mom went to a concert of NICKELBACK. Our favourite band! It was great!!!!!
November: My little sister’ and bae’s birthday both became a year older ❤️ But a little more special that month, was going to Brussels. There I visited some vital parts of the European Union, which was very interesting. Plus, I really enjoyed the city and its little cafes!
December: So much happened in the past month! But I will keep it to two things. At the beginning of the month me and a friend went to the pop-up restaurant of a Dutch food blogger, that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, called “Wat een studentje ‘s avonds eet”. However, the best part of December was celebrating Christmas with the whole family for the first time in 15 years! (Since my family that lived in Australia moved back to the Netherlands)

New Year’s Resolutions

For 2016 I didn’t had any resolutions, as I was quite happy with the life I had and I didn’t saw any reason to put some goals for that year. But this time, there are some things that I would like to work on a little bit more.

1. I would like to take some more relaxing time for myself without using a device, like my telepone or laptop. Latley, I notice that I send way too much time looking at some kind of screen and I really want to change that!
2. Being more social in my free time is also something I would love to do more. Of course, I spend a lot of time with my boyfriend. But I would like to spend the time when I’m not with him with friends or family! I got a bit disconnected with them in the past year, since I’m busy with school, work, the blog, or bae. During my free time I watch tv shows, while I could spend that time better by doing something fun with friends or family.
3. And of course the most used resolution of all time; I would like to focus a bit more on my health. During the last six months of 2016 I’ve been neglecting my health. So, I would like to go to the gym more often, eat healthier and drink more water. I don’t really need or want to be thinner, but by having a healthier lifestyle I would feel so much better!!!

That where my highlights and resolutions for next year! Let me know what your favourite thing was of 2016 and what you would like to achieve in 2017. I would love to know! If I needed to choose one fav highlight it would be the holiday in France ❤

Love life,
