Does it really work? The Pilaten Bleakhead Peel-Off Mask

Hi!

Today, I’m sharing another review on a skin care product with you. I think that we all have seen videos of the peel-off mask that removes a ton of blackheads! But does it really work?

There are a lot of companies that promote these type of masks and I tried out the one by the brand Pilaten. The product is pretty cheap. I was able to order ten packages of 6 grams  (= one portion) for only €5.99 via bol.com.
The mask is thick and sticky, therefor I like to apply it with a brush instead of my fingers in order to create an even layer on the skin. When I applied the product I immediately noticed the fresh scent it has, I personally like it a lot! And that’s kind of where the positive aspects of the mask ends…

You need to leave the mask on for about 30 minutes, which I find a bit too long. As it dries down the product starts to feel very tight on the skin and at the end of the 30 minutes I almost can’t move my face since it is that tight!!!

Removing the mask isn’t that pleasant either, cause to be honest, it hurts like hell… I thought I was pulling all of the tiny baby hairs I have on my skin out when I was peeling off the mask, not that I didn’t really mind that thought but the pain is just to much for me. Especially, when you look at the result… Compared to the videos, almost none of my blackheads where removed. I’ve used normal pore strips that worked better. My skin does feel nice afterwards, but I still don’t think it is worth the pain.

I do have two tips if you would still like to try out this “magic” peel-off mask. I noticed that I got a better result when I steamed my face for a few minutes before applying the mask. And only apply the mask on your problem areas, just because it makes removing the mask a little bit less worse hahaIf you know a better version of this mask, please let me know! I would love to try it out! And hopefully get rid off my blackheads once and for all. I hope you found this article helpful.

Love Life,

Maxime
